Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series title. Supporters worldwide joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has achieved consecutive championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Massive Crowds
Local events featured a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Social media videos depict countless of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player remarked through an translator.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and the artist driving a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

Festivities began well before the procession, with supporters lighting flares in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the win.

However, Mark Walter was met with a cooler welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the event seem to depict Walter taking the stage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his speech.
The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
