Iran Reports Attack on US Base in Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
