Week 10 again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome could have created things up for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their eight and two competitors
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to address
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - admittedly the Dolphins had ten days to prepare but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard season average
Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute drive yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defensive side and Allen attempting to do too much to dig his team out of it - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this season
Miami have served up a varied performances this season so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three different 8-2 teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the best?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their total twenty-four wins coming against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Orchard Park seems like a declaration
Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven straight wins, similar to the Broncos, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his side to success
The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
While you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a winning team, although a huge one against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who could also compete for top seed but face the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the schedule
The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There's a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Clash
Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who both scored forty points to go to 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in Los Angeles
Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defenses allowing under 20 points a game
Both could realistically be undefeated as well - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick deflected and run back by the Eagles for a score
The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're truly two of the top teams in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor might be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
